We got some new Hadaki bags in.  They are bright and summery and ready to be taken home.  They come equipped with numerous pockets, cleanable lining, and sturdy handles.

I'm telling you, I'm pretty sure I heard them calling your name........"Come buy me. I'll treat your yarn and needles right."

Just think about it, you know you have a full card somewhere just waiting to be used. :)

Movie Night

We are going to be having a movie night!!!!!!  This will be happening all summer long actually but let's just focus on June for a sec. Now I know there are quite a few fiber-holics out there that also happen to be Harry Potter fans...........just admit it, you wish you had gotten an owl with an invitation to Hogwarts.

Well, we thought we'd send you out an invitation to our Harry Potter Movie Night sans owl but fun nonetheless. On June 8th we will be watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at the shop!

We'll get everything set up nice and comfortable for ya and have lovely, magical snacks to nibble on. Butterbeer anyone? Also, we'll be knitting a Harry Potter themed item that you can either join in on or bring whatever UFO you can find.

House Scarf
Of course you have the option of the ever practical House Scarf. Some of you might even have this on the needles already. ;)

Hermione's Cable & Eyelet Hat
A quick, lovely option would be Hermione's Cable & Eyelet Hat. Doesn't take much yarn, easy to follow and you could have it done by the end of the movie.

Hermione's Everyday Socks

Or for those of you who want to get serious, or want to start something that will last you until the next Harry Potter themed Movie Night (June 22nd), you can always take up the Hermione's Everyday Socks option. I'm telling you.....this is quite tempting. ;)

Again, this will be happening on June 8th starting at 5pm and ending when the movie ends. We hope you can make it in your Harry Potter gear or come ready to make some gear. We always welcome home made treats or a quick Smallcakes pick-up, either way, we'll be here getting our fiber on in front of the tube with the infamous Harry Potter.

Diane Soucy Workshops

We just can't get enough of these great classes!

We are once again pleased to announce that we have added two more Diane Soucy knitting workshops to our lineup of Summer classes!

Diane began knitting as a teenager, and has been teaching classes and workshops since 1982.  She has had patterns published in several magazines
and a few books, but concentrates most of her design effort
on her own pattern line, Knitting Pure & Simple.  The appeal of her patterns lies in the simplicity of the design and ease of construction.

She has an easygoing, patient teaching style and is always ready to share a great tip, trick and nuggets of knowledge. She also brings lots of sample sweaters, socks and other items relevant to her workshops for inspiration and sampling.

Come join us for her Sock Workshop on June 30th and her Top Down Sweater Workshop on July 28th.

Sale Recap

We had quite the fun time this past weekend during our Mother's Day Sale. We had discounts, giveaways, snacks, and fun visitors.

Thank you to all who brought yummy treats. That was so thoughtful of you, we really appreciated it. And Peg, you really outdid yourself girl, those cupcakes were phenomenal. Most people thought it was actual yarn until we told them it was edible.  Very impressive.

Peg's yummy cupcakes
We had a bouquet of flowers with colored stems that indicated your discount, anywhere from 20% to 30% off.  We had a few 30% winners that got quite a deal on their sweater set-ups. Not too bad.

As a close to our sale we had a fun little visitor, Michelle's dog Hopper came in to say hi. This little guy was just too cute with his tiny growl and spiked color. He would huff and puff and then lay down in your lap. ;)

Hopper

We hope all those who came enjoyed themselves and that we'll see you again soon!

A Familiar Face

On Tuesday we had a little visit from Morgan!!! If you didn't know, Morgan used to work here and then moved to Arizona.  Now the desert gets to keep her and we just get to see her whenever she feels like popping into town.

We chatted a bit, mocked Cindy, looked at new yarn and discussed patterns.  A typical day really. :) We definitely miss her but it was good to see her face again. Don't be a stranger Morgan......or we'll stop sending you yarn.

May KAL

For our May KAL we decided to do a Market Bag.  These are perfect for this weather as you go to your favorite farmer's market.  Throw in your fruits and veggies or other great finds and feel environmentally friendly.

This is also a great time to start using cotton or cotton blends as well as linen.  They'er wonderful to work with in warm weather and very durable, not to mention washable.  I decided to use Cascade's Sierra yarn. It 50% Cotton, 50% Wool.  I am loving how it's turning out!!!  Great drape and even better color. Take a look:

You only need two skeins and we have lots of colors and if you're looking for something a little different then we've got more options for you too. The KAL is free and every Thursday night from 5-7pm. We have a post started about it on Ravelry as well. :)

For those of who read the Wild Fire post and would like to know which color I ended up choosing for my Chevron Lace Cardigan, here it is:

I went with Madame C.J. Walker. The gray hues in it flowed so well and were going to make a more consistent looking top.  Thank you for your help in deciding and I will probably be coming to you again for your votes. Have a lovely day. :)
